What’s in the first issue of Callithump!?

I mentioned Callithump! here and then I realized that they had obviously put in so much work putting together the issue for an insanely little amount of money that it would be criminal for me not to tell the world. The problem, here, as we found with Gumball Poetry, is that by spreading the word they might get more orders – which means a lot more work for them for that $10. Still: They are well worthy of your support.

Here’s a quick photo log of what’s in Callithump! #1 — needless to say the kids were ecstatic and frenzied over the contents of each capsule. Click on any of the photos for a full-size view – this is only a small sampling of the full issue. Then head over to Callithump!

  1. In the meantime, Paul Di Filippo liked your novel.

  2. I know – I’m so psyched about that. How’s it going on that coast?

  3. How’s it going on that coast?

Not as snowy as I would like! A story I’m working on has turned out to require research about Iceland, and it is making me particularly wistful that it rained the night before Christmas and almost all the winter melted away.

  4. Iceland! Pack up and go! I’ve always wanted to go to Iceland, in no small part because of Independent People – one of my favorite books of all time:
And the volcanoes, and the ice, and etc.

  5. Hi Ben,
Sorry, I managed to miss this post until just now! Thanks for all the pictures and nice words. It means a lot coming from you! Gumball Poetry has been a big inspiration to me.

As you know all too well, a project like this is something one does for love, not money. We try to cover our materials costs. I don’t know what we’d do if we actually got a lot of attention, since the day job doesn’t leave much time for creativity.

At least we’ve got a slightly faster turtle now, so now we fill orders in weeks, not months! Oh well, it’s something at least…
